Reluctant Hero is a teen magazine written by Canadian girls for Canadian girls. The content is authentic, true, and isn't pandering to an underestimated audience. Reluctant Hero is also ad-free, so the editorial direction is determined by a group of 50 girls per issue, who make up the editorial committee. With articles ranging from depression to menstruation, from being gay to being boy-crazy, violence, bisexuality, custody and bi-racial dating. Reluctant Hero is a celebration of girls, by girls! Recently Reluctant Hero co-sponsored the Young Canadian Women Writers Festival -- many of the submissions are available on-line and in print.
