Vol 2 #2 - Symbolic Systems
Crow...are you "cawing" so I may know the secrets of balance within my soul? Or are you sending your "caw"
just to remind me of universal laws? (1)
When we sent out the call to our Editors for articles on Symbolic Systems, we did not quite expect the response we received. Rather than receiving materials dealing with specific Symbolic Systems such as Qabbalah, Alchemy, Tarot, I Ching, Ifa etc., a number of articles presented dealt primarily with the Alchemical process or the process of transformation. As a consequence, this issue of ARIADNE'S WEB™ whose theme is Symbolic Systems, presents a series of articles which address themselves primarily to the process of transformation at the microcosmic and macrocosmic levels. In this vein, our lead article entitled "The Soul As Symbol Of Reconciliation" presents the intriguing view that physical illness is often a reflection of disease or a state of disharmony between the Soul and its personality or Ego. This concept of disease is taken up and extended in the METAPHYSIOLOGY® feature entitled "The Alchemy and Logic of Love in Health and Healing" which presents scientific validation for the health benefits that accrue as a consequence of loving relationships, both intra-personal and inter-personal. For its part DIDYANO highlights the importance of the ultimate in intra-personal relationships - that between one and one’s God through prayer - in the healing process.
While the article entitled "The End of the Age of Pisces and The Beginning of the Age of Aquarius" by Haziel alludes to the epoch-making changes which humanity faces at the Dawn of Aquarius, in his article "Initiatory Patterns and Symbols in the Life of Christ", Dr. Jacques Rangasamy points us in an intriguing direction by drawing attention to some interesting highlights in the spiritual life of the Master Jesus - highlights which are universal in their symbolism. For its part, "Gold and Immortality - The Living Tradition of Alchemy" by Claudius and Katherine Barbat reveals some interesting windows of the Tarot through which the Light of the Soul must shine into the outer personality or the Alchemist’s Workshop of the aspirant. In this regard, for the more practical among us, "Practical Plant Alchemy", the first in a three-part series of articles on Alchemy by Mark Stavish, should give much food for thought. And if we are to accomplish the task embodied in the commandment "Love Ye One Another", then we must each learn "How to Love" by seeking and valuing the positive elements in each and every experience which comes our way, according to Marie Verita.
In Part II of "Quantum Spirituality - An Interview with Robert Linssen" we are invited to see beyond the obvious and penetrate to the heart of things where one’s vision is clear because one has discovered how to leave the "noise" of memory and social status behind. In this regard MUSTIKUMA is intended to give a tongue-in-cheek irreverent look at the relevance of academic titles and training to the spiritual quest.
In this issue’s "Entering the Sanctuary", Dr. Mark H. Moulton begins a two-part series on Melchissedeck, entitled "A Himalayan Journey" which should prove enlightening to those who wish to know how to leave the "noise" of the outer world behind. Finally, we are pleased to feature The Rosicrucian Order, AMORC in this issue’s "Esoteric Streams - Schools of Thought". Based upon personal experience, it is the opinion of the Editors of ARIADNE'S WEB™ that this organization is among the foremost authentic schools of spiritual development in the Western World today.
Your thoughts and opinions are important to us so please do not hesitate to let us know what you think of how we are doing.
Yours - OHW.
