Vol. 4,#2 - SPIRITUAL INDIVIDUALISM

Crow...are you "cawing" so I may know the secrets of balance within my soul!  Or are you sending your "caw" just to remind me of universal laws? (1)

If there is a term which will characterize the moving edge of Spiritual Evolution during the coming Millennium, it is Spiritual Individualism, an expression which captures the very essence of any true spiritual movement. For, as is well known, "The multitude survives - the individual evolves!"

This theme of individual evolution is captured in our lead article, entitled appropriately, Spiritual Individualism by Onslow H. Wilson, Ph.D., Editor-in-Chief. This is followed by Sects, Secret Societies, and Initiatic Orders written by Yves-Fred Boisset, Editor-in-Chief of L’Initiation, a French publication dealing primarily with Martinism, and dedicated to cooperation and networking with all serious spiritual movements. In this article, Monsieur Boisset makes the point that Initiatic Orders are dedicated to the individual evolution of their members. In this connection, Esoteric Stream features another article by Yves-Fred Boisset entitled The Place of Martinism in History and Tradition.

As examples of individuals who have exemplified the concept of Spiritual Individualism, there are five articles: One is on Alexandra David-Neel written by ZACCHAEUS - A Secret Admirer and entitled Alexandra David-Neel: The Lady Lama; another is on Krishnamurti entitled On the Subject of Krishnamurti by Robert Linssen; a third is on Madame Blavatsky entitled The Secret Mission of H. P. Blavatsky by Claude Ernemont; a fourth is entitled Dr. Carl Gustav Jung: A Man for All Reasons. The fifth article in this vein constitutes our Masonic Perspective and features the life and works of Albert Pike. And as the glue which binds these all together, there is Truths from Great Beings by Bernard Delafosse, the basic tenet of which is that all truths are one - only the forms differ!

Our Medieval Primer for this issue is entitled Pilgrimage as a Way to Initiation, by Art Kompolt, while the erudite Dr. Mark H. Moulton contributes to Entering the Sanctuary with the second of a two-part series entitled Herculean Discovery - On Elevations.

Finally, Metaphysiology® and Didyano somewhat complement each other in that they both focus on personality and temperament in health and disease. Dr. Mark Thomas’ Metaphysiology® article is entitled Unani Tibb - Western Medicine: Forgotten by the West. And in order to regale the soul there is, of course, Mustikuma.

Our book review is by Sarah Anderson and presents the title Why Christianity Must Change Or Die: A Bishop Speaks to Believers in Exile by John Shelby Sprong.
