Irish Angler

Irish Angler is a monthly magazine which covers all types of angling throughout Ireland, reflecting the wide variety of fishing here in rivers, loughs and sea. Articles range from the practical, with details on how and where to fish, to fisherman’s tales about fishing trips and the ones that got away. We also feature occasional overseas adventures by Irish anglers abroad. Contributors include some of the country’s top anglers in their fields, many of whom hold Irish records and specimen fish awards. Game fishing, including fly tying, features strongly, reflecting Ireland’s wonderful wild trout and salmon fishing. Sea fishing, from both shore and boat is also covered in depth, and not forgetting pike and other coarse fishing. Our Fish of the Month competition provides a valuable prize for noteworthy catches, while we also have regular competitions for tackle and fishing holidays. In our What’s New section we preview the latest and best tackle, while our expert writers carry our regular in-depth field tests of the latest gear for all types of angling. News and events from around Ireland are featured, and we cover areas of interest to anglers in general including the environment, pollution and other topical issues.
